A central point of access. The site ahs been designed to offer a quick and easy route of access to what the visitor may be looking for. For this reason large amounts of descriptive text and design 'features' were kept to a minimum. You can think of the portal as the central 'hub' to other sites of interest within the community.

Accessible to all. One of the key features of the site is its focus on accessibility. For the technically minded, the site was developed using stylesheets (CSS). This technique helps to free pages from an abundance of HTML code, keeping the page consise and containing a greater amount of content of interest. Websites developed in this manner are generally easier to read with screen readers.

In addition to keeping the site as free of 'clutter' as possible, the site also features a translation feature. Users can have the site translated to German, Spanish, and French.

Self maintaining The 'Community Groups' section of the site features a content management system. This means that Community Group members can maintain their own part of the site. Authorised community group members can logon to their own community group and add / update / delete web pages and content. In addition, users are able to 'post' events of interest to the public events diary. In this way community groups can keep the Inverurie community and its own members informed of activities. This feature also means that Inverurie.com is kept fresh and up to date at all times.
